Grandparents had a Mondeo with the 6 CD changer in, took the CD changer out and sold the car but left one of the CD’s in it – is there anyway I can get this CD out without totally destroying it?

My 2007 Nissan Versa’s 6 disc changer’s mechanism locked up, causing a “mechanism error” message to display on-screen. After dis-assembly, I determined the cause to be lack of lubrication in the transport mechanism. Here is a video showing exactly how this style of CD changer works. The concept is simple; split the stack to allow the spindle motor and laser to play a disc within the stack. Each disc is locked onto a thin steel vertical-rail mounted platform. When a disc is injected or ejected, the entire stack is collapsed (spindle arm retracted) and repositioned to allow the selected platform (1-6) to line up with the load slot. If this doesn’t make sense, watch my video! After I made this video, I re-lubricated the entire transport mechanism with white lithium grease, and it works better than new! Good thing, too… these units sell new for over $500, and used prices are still too much!
