i have an ipod interface that uses 2 audio plugs and the sound works when i plug them in but there is no way to turn the sound up and down when the colume dial is turned. it only comes in on one volume setting if i turn it down it turns off. what should i do to to make the car audio system play with the cd player. i plugged in all of connecting wires

I have a Sony CD/MP3 player with AUX hook up. I use my zune player and CDs and noticed when I have the music volume say like on 5 it sounds much louder as compared to having it on 5 when having the radio on. I had a cd player before this one and it was the opposite the radio produced louder results at the same level compared to the CD and zune. Is that a normal thing? All the settings are maxed out. Any suggestions?

I had a power surge about 2 months ago, and I had the stereo (Mhc-G500) and it was on a power strip/surge protector. Since then it will not play any sound, but all works. CD/Radio/Tape all works. I want to fix it, but am not sure how to do so.
